LEVEL: EASY

The starting point for this walk is the public car park at North Landing. The route is designed to give you the best views of the coast from all angles of the chalky cliffs that form Flamborough Head.

On a sunny day, the turquoise sea will deceive you to thinking you’re on a Greek Island!

The terrain can get very muddy and many of the paths are narrow and close to dangerous cliff edges. Sturdy footwear is recommended.

During low tides, you can deviate from the route to walk down to a number of pebble beaches around the headland. The furthest point on the route is Danes Dyke, where it is well-worth walking down the track to the beach to enjoy views of Bridlington.

The path back from Danes Dyke is the least well-marked and then brings you out in the town and back towards your starting point but via Thornwick Bay with its dramatic arches and coves.

There are a number of cafes and pubs on the route and, if you enjoy bird-watching, don’t forget your binoculars for this walk.
