LEVEL: HARD

This on-road route takes you through open country-side and several picturesque Wolds villages.

The landscape is rolling so you’ll be afforded some amazing views of the patch-work of farmland, which inspired world-famous artist David Hockney.

The majority of roads are quiet country lanes and, even during busy times of year, these are vitually traffic-free. While one of the highlights of this ride is that it gets you away from the crowds, it can be remote with limited facilities, especially out of season when the pubs may not be open, so take plenty of fluids and snacks with you.

There are fairly regular climbs and descents, which gives the legs and lungs a good work-out (unless you’re on an electric bike, of course!)

Sledmere House itself has an excellent tea room, farm shop and you can explore the historic house and grounds (charges apply).

We’d always advise checking opening times to avoid disappointment.
